Handcrafted for the Home

I create unique stoneware ceramics for everyday use at home. My work is created in small batches and is either hand thrown or hand built. I love exploring and experimenting with beautiful glazes to finish each piece.

About Me

I’m Clare, and my journey into ceramics started with evening classes at a community studio, where I quickly fell in love with the craft. I enjoyed how working with clay calmed my mind and gave me time to myself to create beautiful, functional pieces.

Seeing clay transform into something useful and beautiful is deeply rewarding, and now I have a small home studio where I can keep exploring new techniques and designs.

I live in Warwickshire in the UK but I’ve spent holidays in Wales since I was a child, and it’s become my second home and love. The sea and mountains there often find their way into my work, inspiring the unique, uplifting glazes on my pottery.

My Work

I create everything in small batches to make sure each piece is just right. This slow approach lets me feel a personal connection to every single item.

My work has many influences, but I particularly like to play with different glazing techniques and combinations. Whilst I love the vibrant colours that can be achieved through layering glazes, I also enjoy creating neutral, natural pieces that bring a sense of calm and peace to your home.

Whether it is a hand-built vase or a wheel-thrown mug, my goal is to bring a little bit of quiet joy in your daily routine. I create unique, hand crafted pieces that feel wonderful to use and will look beautiful in your space.

How My Ceramics Are Made

Every piece in created by hand from start to finish. It begins life either hand built using slab building and coiling techniques, or more commonly thrown on a potter's wheel. It is then trimmed before being bisque fired.

The glazes are applied, often in different layers, which gives a beautiful depth of colour, before being fired again in the glaze firing. The result is something that is both practical to use and completely one of a kind.
